The sisters grew up on the road. Their schools were the stages and studios around the world, where they sang alongside their parents, Zekkariyas and Zeriiya (formerly Womack & Womack), as well as their four siblings. They never stayed in one place for long. No matter where they lived, they were always surrounded by music and their family. Granddaughters of the legendary Sam Cooke and nieces of Bobby Womack, the Womack Sisters come from a royal lineage of soul that deeply permeates their musical universe. Released on August 14 by Daptone Records, the album The Womack Sisters is both forward-looking and rooted in the past: it pays tribute to their family legacy while creating a sound that is uniquely their own.
