The Winstons formed from the backing groups of Otis Redding, Curtis Mayfield, and the Impressions before they were in the spotlight and released their 1st (and only) album, "Color Him Father" in 1969, on Metromedia Records.
The album, out of print for over 50 years, is being reissued by Soul Jazz on vinyl and CD. It includes the hits: 'Color Him Father', 'Amen, Brother' and much more! The track 'Amen, Brother' contains THE most sampled drum break in music history (over 5000) and has shaped the history of electronic music since its creation in 1969.
The fully remastered album is presented in a replica of the original cover and design and is accompanied by 4 additional bonus tracks that the group only released as singles.
