The Winston Brothers is the studio project of Hamburg-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Sebastian Nagel (The Mighty Mocambos, Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band) and drummer/percussionist Lucas Kochbeck (The KBCS, Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band, Hamburg Spinners). Veterans of music with a penchant for analog production, the two men combine a boom bap mindset with a sharp sense of funk and frequently collaborate to create dynamic arrangements that nod to the genre's past while being organically contemporary. With its heavy drums, juicy breaks, infectious grooves, blazing riffs, and melodic instrumentals, Drift draws from the raw energy of 60s and 70s funk.
