Sorti en décembre 1967, The Who Sell Out reflète l’époque où d'énormes bouleversements musicaux se produisent et où la "Pop" se métamorphose en "Rock". L’album contient le hit I Can See For Miles. The Who Sell Out was initially a concept album with jingles and advertisements between the songs, designed like a Radio London show. The initial idea was to sell advertising space on the album (Jaguar cars, Coca-Cola, etc.). The jingles pay tribute to pirate radio stations and already expose the myths of "Pop Culture" and consumer society. The homage to Pop Art is evident both in the advertising jingles and in the iconic design of the cover. Album reissued on 180-gram vinyl, and in Half Speed Master made at Abbey Road.
