Description

THE REISSUE OF THE BALTIMORE GROUP'S SOUL CLASSIC ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 1972 A BLEND OF BALLADS AND GROOVY TRACKS PRODUCED BY GEORGE KERR AND MICHAEL WATSON BONUS "HELP IS ON THE WAY" SAMPLED BY DE LA SOUL Playoff Records reissues Whatnauts On The Rocks on vinyl, the highly sought-after classic soul album by the Whatnauts, produced on Stang Records and released in 1972. The group emerged from Baltimore in the late 60s, produced by George Kerr and Michael Watson. This original 8-track album is a 70s soul classic, blending ballads and groovy tracks. While "You Forget Too Easy" could be played on any lowrider mixtape, "I'm So Glad I Found You" featuring Linda Jones is the perfect Northern Soul track for dancing. Beatmakers and producers are also well served with the drum breaks of the groovy "Why Can't People Be Colors Too?". And to make this reissue even more collectible, Playoff Records has added the funky 80s track "Help is on the way," sampled by De La Soul, as a bonus. A must-have for all diggers and soul fans. The album's sound has been remastered from the original tapes.
