Description

The Swell Season is back. A studio session that began as an effort to create a few new songs for the tour resulted in an album, aptly titled Forward, their first in 16 years after the huge worldwide success of their Oscar-winning role in the film Once. The story of the film and the accompanying soundtrack have gone on to become award-winning musicals around the world. The album consists of eight tracks written by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, who take turns singing. Drawing on their shared history and respecting it, they move forward on equal footing, supporting and lifting each other up. Joined by former band members and produced by Sturla Mio Thorisson, they create a sound that is both old and new for The Swell Season.
