Straight out of Baltimore, Maryland, The S.E.T. is a no-holds-barred hardcore band. Comprising bassist Che (founder of Flatspot Records), guitarist Brady (ex-Turnstile), and drummer Ryan (ex-End It), the band came together during jam sessions in early 2024. Very quickly, they had composed instrumental versions of seven tracks and were ready to add lyrics. The search for a vocalist then began. Che spotted Tim on stage at the Disturbin' The Peace festival and invited him to audition: from then on, The S.E.T. was complete. The band will release their debut EP, Self Evident Truth, on February 27th via Flatspot Records. Fifteen minutes of fury and groove, drawing inspiration from Baltimore bands like Gut Instinct (featuring Sebastian Gorgone on "White Lies") and Stout, as well as the crossover sounds of New York bands such as Leeway and Judge. Recorded and mixed by Justin Day at New Noise Recording studio, then mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, the tracks burst forth with powerful bass lines, frenzied drumming, and enraged vocals. The sincere lyrics champion universal rights and denounce the propaganda of the current US government. With the creation of The S.E.T., the band aims to bring their convictions to life and build a community around their music and live shows.
