Often described as an extraordinary Mozartian, Francesco Piemontesi collaborates for this recording with an orchestra whose reputation is well established, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Conductor Andrew Manze and Piemontesi share the same approach to Mozart's work; they aim to create an authentic performance. The Swiss pianist has a particular understanding of Mozart, having gained "a love for detail" through his years of practice with Alfred Brendel, who is also known for his masterful interpretations of Mozart. This recording brings together consecutive but very different works from the Viennese period.
