Take Me For A Little While

Description

Cosa Records is extremely proud to present The Revues, a pure and hard-hitting soul group exploring the 1960s Texas ballroom scene. On side A, the band gives a fresh new take on the Royal Jesters’ “Take Me For A Little While” while on side B, The Revues cover Sunny Ozuna’s classic “Carino Nuevo” with a brand-new, ultra-fresh arrangement. By blending elements of Texas and California soul, The Revues breathe new life into this classic bolero. The soulful voice of singer La Marisoul adds depth and tenderness to Sunny’s version. This track is an ode to the Hispanic ballroom culture of Texas that swept across much of the Southwest in the mid-20th century. Late nights, bar fights, broken hearts, and soul music set the rhythm of the lives of hard-working Mexican-American laborers.
