Description

Icons of uncompromising rock, the Ramones will leave their mark on history far beyond the impression of a few trendy T-shirts. Formed in the mid-70s, the New Yorkers will spread their music and establish themselves as the godfathers of the genre, despite a commercial impact that is far from their influence on the punk microcosm of the time. Released in 1976, their debut album is based on simple yet effective compositions. Despite a lukewarm reception, it remains, thanks to cult tracks like "Blitzkrieg Pop" and "Judy is a Punk," a reference point and the starting point for a major band in the punk saga. - ("excerpt from the Discothèque Idéale Fnac guide")
