It's alive

Description

Practicising the art of concision with disconcerting skill, the Ramones unleash, over the course of a memorable concert (in 1977, in London, attended by all of English punk) nearly twenty-eight tracks, the longest of which last two minutes and the shortest seventy-four seconds... Ultra-energy, vaguely punctuated by Dee Dee Ramone’s mythical « one, two, three, four ! », these surf destroy wonders where the Stooges rub shoulders with the Beach Boys are still just as exhausting more than twenty years later. « Gimme Shock Treatment », they shouted. For the listener, the mission is accomplished, especially since the setlist is drawn from the group’s best studio albums... All together, then, « Gabba Gabba Hey ! »
