The Quireboys are a British hard rock band, originating from England. They were formed in the mid-1980s and are notably influenced by The Faces of Rod Stewart, whose voice is similar to that of Spike, the singer. It was Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne's wife, who discovered the band. The album A Bit of What You Fancy achieved great success, but like many bands of this style, the Quireboys were swept away by the grunge wave. The band went on hiatus in 1993 and then got back together in 2001, continuing to this day with the release of this new album! Formed in the mid-80s in London, the Quireboys quickly established themselves on the thriving rock 'n' roll scene of Soho, Camden, and beyond. They have always been an excellent live band, honing their style and filling the legendary Marquee Club and venues across the country long before releasing a record, and when they finally released their debut album A Bit Of What You Fancy, what an album it was. Reaching number two on the UK charts, it contained many songs they had been playing live since the beginning. ABOWYF is still revered to this day.
