An American vocal soul group that would shape the sound of pop music well beyond their imagination, The Ponderosa Twins Plus One consisted of two pairs of identical teenage twins: Alfred and Alvin Pelham, Keith and Kirk Gardner, along with Ricky Spicer. The group released a few singles and one album for the Cleveland label Saru in 1971, before disbanding as adolescence faded away. A recent sample cherished by both Kanye West and Tyler The Creator, "Bound" revealed the Ponderosa Twins Plus One as the true teenage soul of the Midwest.
