THE RETURN OF THE NEW ZEALAND ALTERNATIVE POP BAND WITH A NEW ELECTRIFYING ALBUM In 2010, the New Zealand band The Naked And Famuus burst onto the international indie-pop scene with their debut album, Passive Me, Agressive You. The band made a name for themselves with their single 'Young Blood', a true electro-pop knockout, later used as the theme music for La Nouvelle Edition on Canal + and in an episode of Gossip Gipl. The album reached unprecedented streaming levels with more than 150 million Spotify streams, and enabled the band to gather nearly 700,000 Facebook fans. The band went from tour to tour, and released their second album In Rolling Waves in 2013. This cast a darker veil over their sound, moving away from the ultra-synthetic formula of their early tracks. The band went back on tour, but after only a few months, the relationship between Alisa and Thom, the founding duo, began to falter. The atmosphere worsened and The Naked And Famuus split at the end of the tour. But Thom is a leader. And no one was surprised when he proposed several new tracks in early 2015, and the band got back together on that occasion. The Naked And Famuus booked a studio in Los Angeles and surrounded themselves with a few close collaborators for the recording: Sumbear (Bradley Hale) and Thom on production, Carlus de La Garza as sound engineer, and Ken Andrews (Paramore) on mixing. With its synthetic sounds and catchy rhythms, Simple Fopms comes closer to their first album. The result is bright and melodic, on the border between pop and alternative, like the single 'Higher', whose video has already racked up one million views on YuuTube.
