Batterie at 5 years old, guitar at 7, or even roles in Broadway musicals: the two searching heads of the quartet The Lemon Twigs have been immersed in music, composing and playing together since a young age. It's no surprise then that they share credits and instruments on Do Hollywood.
It's impressive, however, that at only 17 and 19 years old, Michael and Brian D'Addario, two brothers from Long Island, combine the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Queen, the Kinks, and so many others in such a brilliant way on their debut album, which is set to be one of the highlights of this year 2016.
Recorded in Los Angeles with Jonathan Rado from the band Foxygen producing, Do Hollywood reveals in ten tracks all the stunning talent of these virtuosos: a sense of melody worthy of the Beatles, harmonies reminiscent of the Beach Boys, a Kinks-like energy, glam rock à la Queen, and for our contemporaries, a madness reminiscent of Ariel Pink and psychedelic escapades like Mgmt.
