The Ghost Inside returns with a new album 5 years after a tragic accident that nearly cost the band their lives. The band The Ghost Inside, based in Los Angeles, unveils its fifth studio album. The self-titled album is a true triumph over adversity. The band was involved in a car accident one tragic night in November 2015; a truck crashed into their tour bus near El Paso, Texas, killing the bus driver and the truck driver, and leaving singer Jonathan Vigil, guitarist Zach Johnson, and drummer Andrew Tkaczyk in critical condition. Tkaczyk remained in a coma for 10 days and ultimately lost his right leg. The metalcore heroes have spent the last 4 years recovering from this event, each member openly documenting their recovery. In February 2019, the band released a video showcasing their return to the studio. Shortly after, they also announced their first concert since the accident. It was a "one-time" event that was set to take place in August in Los Angeles. 7000 tickets sold in the five minutes following their release on March 1. About the album, the bassist said: "We started the writing process knowing full well that every song and every lyric would be influenced by what we went through, but we did our best to make the album speak to everyone. It's a true catharsis that allows us to move forward, because after all, life goes on!"
