Point Of No Return Afro Funk Music
Description
Formed in the aftermath of the Biafran War, The Funkees are among the groups that shaped the golden age of Nigerian afro-rock. After dominating the Lagos scene, Harry Mosco, Jake Sollo, Sonny Akpabio, and their companions moved to London in 1973, where interactions with Caribbean musicians enriched their music with touches of calypso, soca, and British funk. Recorded in 1974, Point Of No Return – Afro Funk Music, their debut album, is now considered a classic of the genre. The explosive instrumentals Point Of No Return and Abraka, the irresistible grooves of Dancing In The Nude or Ole, as well as the finale I Can't Be Satisfied, showcase an exceptional mastery of afro-funk rhythms and psychedelic guitars. Long unavailable in its original version released in Nigeria, this album remains one of the most significant testimonies to the creativity of the afro-rock scene of the 1970s.Buy Point Of No Return Afro Funk Music at the best price
