The soft bulletin
Description
The Flaming Lips, formed in 1983, are real crazies. Their music is a delight of modern psychedelia, often very experimental and disorienting. But with this album, released in 1999, they managed to find the right balance between the madness of their early days and a more appealing approach: there are real songs here with melodies and arrangements of great beauty. Of course, the whole thing is crushed, distorted, off-key at times (pitch has never been a characteristic of psychedelic music, quite the opposite, in fact) and delirious very often.
