Revelation, Beatitudes, Quanta Qualia

Description

Patrick Hawes has distinguished himself in recent years as one of the most popular composers of English choral music. "The nine pieces that make up Revelation stem from my deep love for the Book of Revelation. Where else could you find thunder, lightning, and demons alongside great sweetness? One of my other favorite texts from the Old Testament is the Beatitudes from the Gospel of Matthew - they are, quite simply, among the most beautiful and comforting words of Christ." Quanta Qualia had such a great impact on the audience at the Elora Festival in 2015 that the choir insisted on including the piece in this recording.
