Originally released on May 5, 2009, Gone Fishing was the mixtape serving as a prelude to The Cool Kids' first official album, When Fish Ride Bicycles. This project came out a year after their meteoric success The Bake Sale, which had established them as leaders of the new hip-hop wave, now globally known as "The Blog Era." For this project, the duo enlisted Don Cannon, a DJ, producer, and industry figure, famous for his legendary mixtapes with Nas, Lil Wayne, and Big Sean.
