The Cinelli Brothers is a project born from a shared passion for the electric blues of Chicago and Texas from the 60s and 70s, when brothers Marco (guitarist and singer) and Alessandro (drummer) decided to form an explosive team showcasing an original repertoire in the style of Chess, Stax, and Motown.
The two brothers are joined on stage by Tom Julian-Jones on harmonica, guitar, and vocals and Stephen Giry on bass, guitar, and vocals. They represent a new generation of passionate musicians sharing a love for Blues, Soul, R&B, and the authentic sounds that have made blues a cornerstone of music history.
In September 2022, the band won the UK Blues Challenge and in January 2023, the band ranked number 2 at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA.
Their first album Babe Please Set Your Alarm was recorded at Soup Studio in London and the full live analog recording was released in May 2018 on vinyl and digital formats. Music Republic Magazine named Marco Cinelli best guitarist of 2018.
In November 2021, the band released their second album "Villa Jukejoint" in conjunction with a SOLD OUT concert at the legendary 100 Club in London. Recorded at home with a single microphone, the record exudes a unique vintage and retro feel, typical of the 50s and early 60s!
In 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, the band was nominated for the UK Blues Awards as "Blues Band Of the Year." In January 2022, the record "Villa Jukejoint" was nominated for the UK Blues Awards as "Blues Album of the Year."
In January 2023, the record "No Country For Bluesmen," their 3rd album released in May 2022, was nominated for the UK Blues Awards as "Blues Album of the Year."
The Cinelli Brothers are an example for a generation of passionate musicians sharing a love for Blues, Soul, RnB, and the authentic sounds that have made blues a cornerstone of music history.
