For the first time, discover Terry Callier as he was at the very beginning of his career: raw, intimate, and already visionary. Captured in 1967 at the Earl of Old Town Club by Joe Segal, this previously unreleased concert predates his cult classic The New Folk Sound of Terry Callier and reveals a young artist already master of his musical universe. Born in Chicago and raised in the Cabrini-Green neighborhood, Callier began playing piano at age three and wrote his first songs at 11, singing in doo-wop groups. Discovered in the 1960s by local producers, he remained a niche artist for a long time, rediscovered in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom thanks to the single I Don't Want to See Myself (Without You). His career then revived, with acclaimed concerts and live and studio albums. This restored and remastered live box set offers a precious testimony to his early talent, at the crossroads of folk, jazz, and soul, celebrating an artist long too overlooked but now legendary.
