Description

A punchy rhythm and metallic atmospheres are on the agenda for this minimalist and dark four-track release by Terrain for Livity Sound. The collaboration between Forest Drive West and Voytek has so far produced sharp productions for Delsin's Mantis series and Vargmal, finding synergy between a pure and complex drum & bass and intense experimental techno. On "Barossa Dub," the duo slows down the tempo to a dancehall groove to propel a soundscape rich in dub and a powerful bass. "Nica" maintains a laid-back nonchalance while gradually building an unsettling atmosphere. On the B-side, "Scatter" raises the pressure with a punchy broken techno track, flirting with breakbeat. "Hive" opts for a dark, purring techno meditation that thrives on slow diffusion and complex sound design, crowning a diverse journey through austere club modernism.
