"Les Séries de Velours" is a new record collection presented by Le Pop Club Records. It features contemporary artists offering instrumental music on the borders of electronica, library music, cinematic easy listening, and contemporary pop. This series continues the reissues of French film music that Le Pop Club has developed in recent years. From Roi Angus and Magic & Naked, Augustin von Arx and Léonard Persoz have been producing music in the intimacy of a cramped room since they were able to do so. From their union springs a productive sorcery that they employ for themselves or when they offer their services as arrangers for an ever-growing number of artists (Kacimi, Romano Bianchi, Casatis...). For this first effort, their new band Tendance invites you to spend an evening in their company, attending a screening in their own clandestine cinema. While we won't have more information about the promised film, we can guess its content through the atmospheres created by nine instrumental tracks. Slow tempos, languid guitars, synthesizers that waver in tune and make their way into a fragile and dreamlike universe. Tendance plays with the suspended, with the undulating, just as cinema makes us believe in the certainty of imaginary worlds.
