Dive into the world of Taylor Williams, a young soul singer from Greensboro, North Carolina. Discovered by Blake Rhein, guitarist for The Indications, he joined the Colemine Records family, where an immediate artistic connection was formed with label founder Terry Cole. His first single for Colemine was recorded at the Portage Lounge in Loveland, Ohio, with Charles Alley on drums. Taylor overflows with talent, charisma, and kindness: shortly after recording the rhythm tracks for “Dreaming,” he wrote the chorus, verses, and laid down his vocals—in a single take. The B-side of this 45-rpm record features his rendition of a rare track from the Numero Group catalog, originally by The Exceptional Three. Produced in a raw and minimal style by Leroi Conroy, this version transports the original soul into 2025 without altering its sincere emotion.
