Scuncke Intégrale de l'œuvre pour piano

Description

Ludwig Schuncke (1810-1834) died tragically of tuberculosis at the age of 24. He was hailed in Leipzig musical circles as a young genius; Robert Schumann (who was a close friend) exclaimed: “He is the one we have been waiting for.” Schuncke’s style, rooted in the Viennese classical tradition, is imbued with Romantic gestures, a style strongly influenced by his fellow Schumann: flourishing and virtuosic. This new recording contains all of Schuncke’s piano music and a large sonata, as well as several brilliant and varied character salon pieces: a real discovery!
