5th opus of the collection dedicated to the French Melody produced by the Palazzetto Bru Zane and the label Aparté. Today unknown even to passionate collectors of rarities, Fernand de La Tombelle was nonetheless a virtuoso organist, a respected pedagogue (founder of the Schola Cantorum with d'Indy), and a demanding and refined composer. This is evidenced by these melodies that cover a wide period of his life as a creator, leading from the romanticism of Saint-Saëns to the Post-War period of Poulenc. The musical treatment gives a large place to the vocality inherited from Massenet, but the harmonic richness and the diversity of climates show that La Tombelle is not just an epigone.
