Diskodub

Description

A year and a half after the release of "Heavy This Year", Taiwan MC is back with a second EP: "DISKODUB"! Between two concerts with Chinese Man Records to celebrate the label’s 10th anniversary, Taiwan MC returned to the studio to record this new solo project! The result is a hybrid record of digital reggae tinged with 80’s funk, retro-futuristic dancehall and psychedelic dub. Inspired by his live experiences, composed of lyrics written on the road, this new EP shaped by instinct proves to be at once original, resolutely dancefloor and totally hallucinogenic! Revealing a personal universe and laying the foundations of a sound at the crossroads of Jamaican sound systems, London clubs and New York block parties, "DISKODUB" also marks Taiwan MC’s debut as a composer. Produced and directed by S.O.A.P, with the participation of Chinese Man, Dreadsquad and Manudigital, the various beatmakers redouble their talent to turn this record into a true musical firebrand! While "Heavy This Year" featured numerous guest appearances, Taiwan MC takes on all the riddims on this new release solo and gives us a glimpse of the full extent of his vocal abilities, between singer, MC and “deejay”!
