Originally released in 1999, Nattestid Ser Porten Vid is the cult album that established Taake as one of the pillars of true Norwegian black metal. Founded in 1993 by Hoest, the band embodies a cold, dark vision deeply rooted in the mountainous landscapes of Bergen. Entirely composed by Hoest and recorded in 1997-1998 at the legendary Grieghallen Studios with Pytten, the album blends icy riffs, haunting atmospheres, and surprisingly melodic and complex compositions. Grim vocals and clean vocal passages coexist, carried by lyrics in Old Norse, reinforcing the mystical aura of the work. Quickly hailed as a classic of the genre, often compared to early Darkthrone, Immortal, or Satyricon, Nattestid remains an absolute reference. This edition includes as a bonus the foundational 1996 EP, Koldbrann I Jesu Marg, completing an essential testament of Norwegian black metal.
