Thousands of words have been written about Syd Barrett's career after his departure from Pink Floyd; however, much of this writing is contradictory or purely fanciful. It turns out to be less easy than one might think to describe his two only radio sessions or broadcasts, dating from 1970 and 1971. The music in this compilation is unique in that it features both the original guitarist of Pink Floyd and the one who would accompany the band during its golden age. David Gilmour is the unsung hero. After Syd Barrett's decline at the end of the 1960s, his replacement, David Gilmour, did his best to provide him with a musical and emotional framework by participating in these radio sessions, where he played bass, electric guitar, and organ, while also providing backing vocals.
