Post-punk is occasionally tinged with atmospheric post-rock tones (The Bridge). The band enjoys writing grim twists or ballads for crooners who are into voodoo. The album concludes with the epic 9:36 Doreen’s Song, where the spoken word of singer Sol Hess crashes against noise-rock crescendos that capture the full power of the band in concert. For Something In The Way We Spin wonderfully does justice to the camaraderie of the four musicians who have always turned their concerts into joyful liberating celebrations.
