Nikus Pokus, the group’s resident beatmaker, Mr Xavier, Gérard Baste and Dj Pone, the legendary lineup that tore through venues and festivals throughout the 2000s (Eurockéennes, Vieilles Charrues, all the finest Paris venues, small bars and big chaos...) Svinkels is the kick in the anthill of French rap, the most rock ’n’ roll rappers in France, as if Lemmy and Ol' Dirty Bastard were downing Jack while flashing some filthy Snaps. With the respect of both the old guard and the younger crowd, the Svink have always held a special place in the musical landscape... The 3 buddies met in the mid-90s, and quickly turned their love of American rap into a first EP, Juste Fais La, produced by Guts in 1997. A first cult album, Tapis Rouge, came out in 1999, driven by the hit of a generation, the ever-vibrant “Réveille le Punk”. In 2003, a second opus as rich as it is chaotic, aptly titled “Bons pour l'Asile”, propelled them into the upper ranks and made them the standard-bearers of French alternative rap. And finally, “Dirty Centre” brought the trilogy to a rousing close in 2007, in a grand tribute to the groups that influenced them, orchestrated by DrKrunkenstein aka Ludovic Bource, a longtime companion (Cereal Killer, le Svink c'est Chic), since awarded both a César and an Oscar for the soundtrack of The Artist. Add to that the presence of turntable champion DJ Pone, who was essential to the group’s reach through live shows and the compilation “Dj Pone réveille le Svink!”. The return of Svink, for an exceptional tour, will be the unmissable event for all lovers of Rock, Rap, Punk and Hip Hop. Girls and boys, in the simplest attire, for moments that promise to be unforgettable. It’s not for the money. It’s for History. And then to have a few drinks too, of course.
