The group has released four studio albums: Authentik in 1991, 1993... J'appuie sur la gâchette in 1993, Paris sous les bombes in 1995, and Suprême NTM in 1998, which sold 40,000 copies on the day of its release, a record for a French rap album.After announcing a return to the stage in 2008 and a national tour, the album On est encore là - Bercy 2008 is released.Despite numerous controversies and conflicts among its members, NTM remains one of the most emblematic groups of French rap.Authentik is NTM's first studio album, released in 1991 on the Epic label, which had just signed them. It follows the release of the maxi single Le monde de demain, which sold over 50,000 copies and was marked by its assertive and rebellious tone that matched the prevailing climate in France at the time. The most well-known tracks from the album include among others Le monde de demain, L'argent pourrit les gens, C'est clair, Authentik, Freestyle.Upon its release, Authentik strikes with the violence of its statements. It notably addresses the issue of the suburbs and the exclusion of a whole segment of French society.Technically, Authentik surprised with its hip-hop musical production and is considered by many as the first accomplished album in the history of French rap.The album sold 90,000 copies in a few months, and the group undertook an exceptional tour culminating at the Zénith in Paris, which they filled, a great first for a rap group.The album became gold record in 1996.
