Welcome to STR4TASFEAR, the second album by STR4TA, the Brit-funk project from Gilles Peterson and Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick. A collection of songs, melodies, grooves and sounds that fit perfectly into the brand new world of music of which it is a part. Gilles and Bluey are two men who emerged in the world of Brit funk. They both were part of that truly exciting chapter in local music history; which manifests here in a sumptuous blend of sinuous bass lines, spacey synth melodies, fiery rhythms and ethereal, vaporous vocals. For this new album, they invited a few friends to join the party. The multi-talented neo-soul godfather Omar, and the renowned singer Valérie Etienne, both represent the first twist of Brit funk. The musical polymath Emma-Jean Thackray, the Brighton duo Anushka and the Florida-based trumpeter/singer Theo Croker.
