Stone & Charden

Description

This compilation brings together the 22 essential tracks by the 2 artists, as a duo or solo. Numerous TV and radio shows (including a special Vivement Dimanche “Stone et Charden”) will pay tribute to Eric Charden, 10 years after his passing, on April 29, 2012. STONE et CHARDEN is a French duo formed by Éric CHARDEN and his wife Annie GAUTRAT. Éric CHARDEN wrote for Johnny HALLYDAY, Sylvie VARTAN, and DALIDA. With MONTY, Éric CHARDEN wrote what would become his first hit in 1967, “Le monde est gris, le monde est bleu”. A song also recorded in Italian, Spanish, and German. That same year, Éric CHARDEN wrote the hit “Mais quand le matin” for Claude FRANÇOIS. For her part, Annie GAUTRAT was the winner of a contest, Miss Beatnik, in 1966, and immediately recorded her first 45s, notably “Le jour, la nuit”, “Seul”, “Problèmes”, “Fille ou garçon”, “Pour une fille c’est différent” or “Baby Stone”. STONE et CHARDEN broke through in 1971 with “L’Avventura”. This was followed by “Il y a du soleil sur la France”, and especially “Laisse aller la musique”, “Le prix des allumettes” or “Made in Normandie”, all three No. 1 hits. In tandem with Didier BARBELIVIEN, Éric CHARDEN then broadened his range as a composer by creating and performing the French musical themes for Japanese science-fiction series, including the famous animated series “Albator, le corsaire de l’espace” in 1979, or “San Ku Kaï” in 1980. In April 2012, STONE et CHARDEN presented their new album “Made in France” to the media, featuring covers of famous duets. Éric CHARDEN would sadly die a few weeks later, on April 29, 2012. The album “Made in France” then rose to 12th place in the best-selling records in France.
