Songs from the labyrinth - Digipack

Description

Sting's new album is released on the Deutsche Grammophon label. Sting ventures into new musical horizons: an album of Elizabethan music dedicated to the English composer John Dowland (1563-1626). He is accompanied by Edin Karamazov on the lute, and he plays the lute himself on some tracks. It was in the 80s (during the time of Roxanne and Message in a Bottle!) that Sting discovered Dowland's music, which has occupied his thoughts up to today. Two years ago, his guitarist Dominic Miller gifted him a lute; fascinated, he immersed himself in the repertoire of this instrument and rediscovered John Dowland, the first songwriter to whom, he says, "we owe a lot today." In total, there are 23 tracks, some of which are dedicated to lute instrumentals and excerpts from a letter written by Dowland, read by Sting.
