Description

With Music Of My Mind released in early March 1972, Stevie Wonder showcases the extent of his possibilities and the ambition he now wishes to demonstrate, now that the years of intensive output for Tamla are behind him. With this newfound artistic freedom, he locks himself away for several months in his new studio to familiarize himself with a range of brand new synthesizers (ARP, Moog, clavinet, clavichord), assisted by engineers Robert Margouleff and Malcolm Cecil, apprentice-wizards of Robert Moog whose albums Zero Time and It's About Time are landmark works. As a gifted multi-instrumentalist, Wonder composes on the piano and creates rhythmic foundations on the drums, adding a pinch of harmonica here and there. He plays, arranges, and produces, his gift for instant melody doing the rest.
