Co-written and directed by Wright, the film brings together an impressive cast: Glen Powell, Josh Brolin, Colman Domingo, William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Jayme Lawson, and Daniel Ezra. The story: A working-class family man, willing to do anything to save his sick daughter, takes part in a deadly game show. The concept is simple: contestants must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins. But thanks to his instinct, determination, and courage, he becomes, against all odds, the public’s favorite... and a threat to the entire system. About the music We are huge fans of Edgar Wright and Steven Price, and it is pure joy to see them collaborate again on such a cinematic project. Steven Price’s score for The Running Man is a dazzling blend of propulsive rhythms, bubbling synthesizers, and traditional orchestral elements, all sparkling with inventiveness. The central theme: Elegant and timeless in quality, it unfolds soothing strings that weave a hypnotic melody. The game show segments: In total contrast, these tracks are fun, grandiose, and delightfully retro. The overall mood: Darker, dystopian pieces punctuate the album, heightening the tension. Integrated into the film, the music acts as a character in its own right, driving the narrative forward.
