Recorded between August and December 1960, Blue Hour was finally released in March 1961. It is in the company of a trio that saw some of the greatest saxophonists of the era pass through, such as Sonny Stitt, Lester Young, Lou Donaldson, and a bluesy Stanley Turrentine with a precious and delicate melancholy.
