Since its creation in the early 2000s, Stand High Patrol has made soundsystems resonate in its own way, appropriating and reinterpreting the codes of the genre. Labeled a dub formation by specialists, recognized as a major soundsystem in the field, the collective (composed of ROOTYSTEP, MAC GYVER, and PUPAJIM) often surprises with its out-of-the-box musical orientations while bringing together audiences from diverse backgrounds around unexpected productions and unpredictable sets.
In 2020, nearly 20 years after its debut, the collective presents Our Own Way, its fifth album. Like Midnight Walkers and Matter Of Scale, its first two LPs now considered classics, this new opus stands as a true representation of the crew's versatility and its music. This style called "Dubadub" is nourished by multiple influences. Over the years, its dub and reggae foundations have encountered Hip Hop, Jazz, New Wave, Trip Hop, and many other musical currents. And while Our Own Way is similar to the crew's first two albums in its form, it cannot be defined as a return to the roots; it is simply a manifest continuation of them.
