The Big Heat
Description
"The Big Heat," named after the 1953 film noir of the same name, is the first solo album from 1986 by former Wall of Voodoo singer Stan Ridgway. With "The Big Heat," Stan Ridgway began paving the way for singer-songwriters by using a synthesizer and a drum machine. "The Big Heat" clearly achieves its goal, with music that is both catchy and sophisticated, paying homage to film noir. Stan Ridgway's cynical delivery enhances everything else, even in the atmosphere of the romance gone wrong in "Walkin' Home Alone." Standout tracks include the delirious "Pile Driver," "Drive She Said," and the exaggerated Vietnam tale "Camouflage," released in 1993 with six additional tracks.Buy The Big Heat at the best price
