Deutsche Elektronische Musik 3: Experimental German Rock and Electronic Music 1971-81
Description
This third edition from Soul Jazz Records follows on from the “Deutsche Elektronische Musik” series to give us a fascinating compilation featuring a selection of tracks by German rock bands and electronic musicians such as Neu!, Cluster, Popol Vuh, La Düsseldorf, Agitation Free, as well as rare tracks by lesser-known artists like Michael Bundt, Bröselmaschine, Dronsz, Achim Reichel... The music on this album was recorded during the 70s until the early 80s, a period when visionary electronic and avant-garde German rock bands were seeking a new identity to break away from the post-war cultural heritage. They created some of the most authentic and inspired music, with motorik beats accompanied by ethno-musical influences (from Turkey, India or Brazil), and with the musical and futuristic possibilities of electronic and technological developments. DEUTSCHE ELEKTRONISCHE MUSIK 3 is released as a 3LP, double CD and digital version, accompanied by an introduction designed by David Stubbs, author of the acclaimed book, 'Future Days: Krautrock and the Building of Modern Germany'.
