Holdin The Vibe

Description

With « Holdin the Vibe », Siska marks a successful return to reggae: an 8-track album enriched with a few Jamaican-style versions as well as choice features, such as on Water Rush where Earl 16 and Pat Kalla appear. Holdin' the Vibe is a tribute to her "big brother" Ras Jahby and through him, to the entire Rasta culture that sowed the "reggaemusic" seeds in Marseille and throughout France. Prince Fatty (Mike Pelanconi) is on production with his rootsy yet modern touch. 100% analog, like a reminiscence of the golden age of Jamaican reggae in the seventies. Karigan and Taggy Matcher round out the production team. Siska grew up in the northern districts of Marseille; very early on, in addition to singing in her afro-reggae combo Axxam, she provided backing vocals in Joby's Zion Train Imperial. He would even give her her first group as lead vocalist, Ka & Co. Sista Ka was born and would break free from all possible codes with her world-beat gang Watcha Clan. She would travel across France, Europe, the Maghreb, and the USA for 15 years and 5 albums.
