For her new album, DREAMS, Danish vocalist Sinne EEG is once again accompanied by her longtime collaborator, pianist Jacob CHRISTOFFERSEN, and some big names from the current transatlantic jazz scene: drummer Joey BARON, bassist Scott COLLEY, and guitarist Larry KOONSE. Supported by this top-notch lineup, this jazz musician at heart and accomplished lyricist wanted to take her writing in a new direction. In total, Sinne Eeg is the originator of six of the album's ten tracks, which also include four covers. Her writing encompasses a variety of styles, from romantic ballads (Love Song) to funkier tunes (The Bitter End). She also shows a certain affinity for waltzes with Head Over Heels, for which she wrote the music but entrusted the lyrics to vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mads Mathias. The smooth eponymous instrumental ballad (Dreams) introduces the singer as a voice in her own right among the other instruments. Moved by the suffering of the children of Aleppo, the nerve center of the Syrian conflict, the singer wrote the song Aleppo, undoubtedly one of her greatest achievements as an author. Also on this album is Time To Go, a song recorded as a piano-voice duet on the previous album, which the Dane wanted to give a new dimension. After gaining international recognition from audiences and musicians, particularly in Europe and Asia, the woman considered Scandinavia's leading jazz vocalist is now poised to conquer the United States with her ninth solo album.
