After Piazzolla Reflections (ALPHA664), Latvian accordionist Ksenija Sidorova dedicates this new recording to Bach and compositions influenced by his music... starting with the famous Concerto BWV1052, which has inspired many adaptations for piano, violin, or even heavy metal guitar. "I think a version for a two-keyboard instrument will not surprise anyone!" says Ksenija Sidorova. The program also includes: Sergey Akhunov, a composer already featured on the previous album, with a work inspired by Bach's Chaconne BWV1004, Beyond Bach by Gabriela Montero, a Venezuelan pianist and composer famous for her improvisations, Horizons by Anglo-Bulgarian composer Dobrinka Tabakova... Finally, the prelude of the chorale Ich ruf zu dir, which has accompanied Ksenija since her childhood: "I think this piece for organ works particularly well on the accordion, which is also a bellows instrument... It even offers greater flexibility in the dynamic range. You can really let the music breathe more."
