When it comes to vocal harmonies, it's hard to compete with this duo, one of the most popular at the end of the 1960s. However, Sounds Of Silence, which symbolizes the emergence of the duo composed of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, is largely made up of songs that the former recorded on his solo album Paul Simon Songbook - but rearranged and reorchestrated. The folk wave is then overwhelming the counterculture, but Simon & Garfunkel counter the "Dylan-esque" violence with a much softer and more voluptuous approach.
