A life for the opera (München, Hannover & Düsseldorf)
Description
Agostino Steffani is one of those multi-talented personalities often encountered in the Baroque era. He was a churchman who became a titular bishop and a mediator between the pope and the emperor. He was also a diplomat and a politician who traveled extensively, holding high state positions up to minister, and he was a composer who wrote operas for the courts of Munich, Hanover, and Düsseldorf. The Italian soprano Silvia Frigato and the Castor ensemble trace the stages of Steffani's life through a selection of arias from his operas. Silvia Frigato studied piano and voice at the Conservatorio di musica di Adria (Italy). She then continued her studies at the Accademia di Musica di Modena (with Raina Kabaivanska), at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, and at the State University of Sofia. She studied the repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries at the European Baroque Academy of Ambronay and at the International Music Academy of Milan under the direction of Roberta Invernizzi, Roberto Balconi, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Marina De Liso, and Sara Mingardo.Buy A life for the opera (München, Hannover & Düsseldorf) at the best price
