This 3 CD box set brings together live recordings mainly made in Paris between 1952 and 1958, capturing the very essence of the extraordinary swing of the jazz veteran of that time. A true rockstar ahead of his time, Sidney Bechet ignited crowds with his virtuosity, charismatic presence, and contagious fervor. Here is a precious testimony to the electrifying atmosphere of the artist's concerts that allows us to vibrate to the rhythm of his incandescent jazz. Patrick FRÉMEAUX The Live in Paris collection, directed by Michel Brillié, allows us to rediscover unpublished recordings (concerts, private or radio sessions) of the great stars of jazz, rock & roll, and 20th-century song. These live recordings, and the relationship with the audience, bring an added soul and sensitivity in contrast to the rigor applied during studio recordings.
