Reissue of this legendary, rare, and unusually dreamy electronic new age album. Originally created and released in a small edition in Japan in 1987 by the mysterious musician/magician Shiho. The album features floating, shimmering synthesizer textures. It is unique and very serene with changing tonal colors and spatial textures that take the listener to a special magical place. It is as beautiful as it is captivating. There is also an obsessive quality in certain parts of the album that resembles what might have influenced David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti when they composed the soundtrack for the original Twin Peaks series. Shiho, who loves to make improvised music, began studying classical piano at the age of five. She says she draws inspiration from celestial realms but never considers melody. She paints a musical picture. Creativity is the unfolding of unknown realms within the self. Through the modes of expression she has chosen, each of us creates a unique universe, a unique environment every day. The universe created by each being in an endless repetition are messages from the universe. The breath of this music, expressed from my current environment, flows through a myriad of places as environmental music is my expression of The Body Is A Message Of The Universe. Although Shiho Yabuki has continued her career in Japan, both as a musician and magician, and has become a pioneer of healing music in Asia, for most Western listeners, it was as if Shiho was one of those mysterious artists who releases an album and is never heard from again.
