Sharp Objects

Description

The eight-episode drama series Sharp Objects, from Entertainment One (eOne) and Blumhouse Television, premiered in July 2018 exclusively on HBO and OCS City. Based on the eponymous novel by author Gillian Flynn, the series was directed by Jean-Marc Vallée (Dallas Buyers Club, Wild, Big Little Lies). Showrunner Marti Noxon co-wrote all the episodes with Flynn. Amy Adams stars as journalist Camille Preaker, who returns to her hometown of Wind Gap to cover the murder of a pre-teen and the disappearance of another. In trying to piece together a psychological puzzle from her past, she identifies a bit too closely with the young victims. eOne is releasing the soundtrack and musical companion to this crime miniseries. Like HBO's hit series Big Little Lies and its original soundtrack, Sharp Objects has greatly benefited from the vision of director Jean-Marc Vallée and the musical supervision of Susan Jacobs. "This soundtrack is an invitation to discover its deep nature," Jacobs and Vallée stated. "To do what Camille Preaker does with music on her journey to Wind Gap. You have to escape from within, bless your heart." The original soundtrack features music from key scenes in the series, including tracks by Jean-Phi Goncalve, Sylvan Esso, Snoop Dogg, Emily Wells, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Alison Krauss & Robert Plant, Willie Dixon, The Acid, and many more.
